Monkey Slots - The Desert Votes for Slot Machine Oasis

Residents of the San Bernando High Country have spoken and they votes point to they're desire to have slot machines in they're area in the form of possibly a joint effort by two different Indian tribes to build a slot machine casino complex that would be located near the Barstow area. What the residents were actually voting on was a referendum that would have prevented the construction on the casinos, and they made their approval of the slot machines heard by a eighty one percent vote against the referendum.

The two Indian tribes that are planning on building the slot machine filled casinos are the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians from San Diego County and the Big Lagoon Rancheria Band of Humboldt County. They have a plan to place the twin casinos near Barstow's outlet malls on 47 acres but the ultimate approval is still in the hand of the voters. And many feel that the vote is going to go in favor of the almost four thousand jabs that the casinos would supply to the desert community.

The increase in Indian casinos in California has made a dramatic effect of the amount of money the state has been able to pull in. There are now fifty-two Indian casino operating with a total of thirteen thousand slot machines that are generating over six billion dollars in revenues. This particular addition would house up to twenty-five hundred slot machines that would no doubt become an attraction for the over thirty eight thousand cars that pass through the area everyday.
