Monkey Slots - Colorado needs more slot machine regulators

There are currently 11 states in the united States who have casinos running for commercial purposes. Of these, Colorado's regulators are the least equipped, only offering five division of gaming employees for the combined 17,000 slot machines throughout the State. This is close to one for every three and a half thousand machines. Most states have at least one gaming regulator for every 1,500 slots.

This report comes after some illegal slot machines has remained on casino floors, more than two years after getting tagged and requested to be removed. In August and September 2006, the state fined two casinos more than $100,000 for these incidents. These were the first ever fines issued for such an offense.

Casino gamblers wagered more than $12 billion dollars on slots for the 12 months between July 1st 205 and June 30th 2006. The casinos' adjusted gross proceeds, which is bets minus payouts, was $736 million from slots.
