Slot Cheats Get Bad Rap in Atlantic City
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has sniffed out two old
time Las Vegas slot machine cheats and are proposing that the Chief Casino
Regulator blacklist the dishonest gamblers before that cause any more harm.
Six million dollars, sounds like a lot of money for two elderly senior
citizens to be swindling from big time Las Vegas casinos in the late 1990s,
but believe it or not, Sean McAndrew and Eugene Bulgarino both succeded in
doing just that. This is why Thomas Auriemma, the director of of New
Jersey’s DGE, is wanting the duo to be permanently prohibited from the
casinos and slot parlors in Atlantic City. Sean and Eugene were part of a
successful ring of crooks that ripped off the Luxor, Sahara, Excalibur, Rio
and Harrah's slot machines in the period between September 1996 and November
1997. Sean seems to be rather hooked to his slot cheating ways due to the
fact that he has twice served time for the offence and yet is still drawn to
the seedy world of casino con artistry even though he was just recently
released in this past December. The goal of the Casino Control Commission is
place both men on the black list with 171 other names of people that have
been deemed as bad influences on Atlantic City Casinos and Slot Machine
Parlors. The interesting thing is that there have been no hits to whether
or not these guys have been setting their sights on Atlantic City or if the
are any where near the coastal gambling mecca. Chuck Davis, a spokesman for
Auriemma, said, "We have no knowledge he's in Atlantic City. We just wanted
to make sure Atlantic City wasn't tempting for this guy.” New Jersey is
definitely getting a leg up with their preemptive strike techniques. Eugene
Bulgarino has also been in prison for several years due to his seedy past in
which he collected used slot machines in order to test and develop cheating
tools. He also was in charge of recruiting front people who would collect
the jackpots in order to divvy among the group. |
